Ron Paul Money Bomb Weekly Newsletter http://www.ronpaulmoneybomb.com
Information you may not know:
Late September 2007, Jesse Elder coined the word 'Moneybomb'. It was an idea for the Ron Paul support community to donate a set amount all on the same day. The goal was to attract 20,000 people to donate $25 per week, every week. Soon word spread on the blogosphere and message boards. All you had to do was write an email to Jesse via ronpaulmoneybomb@yahoo.com and Jesse would send out an email to the pledgers with the next date.
Example: http://ronpaulosopher.blogspot.com/2007/10/it-is-not-often-such-large-group-of.html
On October 15th Eric Nordstrom created a website to help Jesse. The website was up and running on the 16th of October.
Many people were worried that donating all at once would crash the donation server. It hadn't been done before so we were all crossing our fingers for the best. The first mass donation event occurred on October 20th 2007.
Recorded by Dan at ronpaulgraphs.com the link below shows dates, amounts, and the charts for the day.

After the moneybomb concept was established, a video was placed on youtube called "a perfect day", the video was published by James Sugra and is said to have inspired Trevor Lyman to register the domain thisnovember5th.com.
Weather the ronpaulmoneybomb is what inspired James Sugra to create the perfect day video is unknown. It is possible that Jesse and James had the same idea. What is known, is the word "moneybomb", already well established on the internet, was used on the thisnovember5th.com website and in virtually all the youtube videos, all the blogs, and all the message boards advertising the thisnovember5th.com event.
We made an attempt to ensure people knew the ronpaulmoneybomb.com was the origin of the whole thing. We knew we needed to do this so that we could keep the donations at a central website (others were putting up alternative themes and website claiming to be the next moneybomb and we saw the coming chaos). Having a central location ensured that the community KNEW exactly which donation event to focus on. But before we could regain our footing as the real deal, CNN was reporting about the moneybomb and Trevor Lyman's name was used. After his name was mentioned, a quasi-celebrity status was granted to him from the MSM - herd mentality took over.
Unfortunately, even Ron Paul supporters believe that what CNN reports is fact.
Byron Wolf, political correspondent from ABC News actually interviewed me concerning the moneybomb. But CNN beat ABC to the punch.
Pop-culture believe versus truth took over and Trevor gained influence within the community leaving Jesse and I to struggle on. A small fragment from my interview received a small place within a totally different article (even then my words were butchered hehe) - See link:

We still don't know or understand why Trevor has never mentioned us. At first Jesse and I were ready to pop him in the nose for heisting our concept. Instead we decided to remain humble and do what we could to help. So we helped...
A little too much. November 5th was such a success, everyone forgot about the origin of the idea and focused their attention on Trevor Lyman. We thought for sure Trevor would mention us for sure! After all, our concept of the moneybomb was up on the television.
Nope. Not a mention.
I decided to let you all know this information as I owe it to Jesse to get the truth out. Ultimately as long as Ron Paul benefited from the moneybomb - great.
But I can't help feeling a little sad. Trevor will end up with a great job, benefits, notoriety, etc. while Jesse falls into obscurity. Just doesn't seem fair.
So, I ask you to visit Jesse's website. Let's get his band and his music to some events. At the very least, please send him a thanks for his brainchild that has raised over $11 Million dollars for Ron Paul.

Current Events:
Ron Paul came in second place in Nevada. Not surprisingly you didn't hear very much about it in the press or the news. I have completely unplugged from television 'news' and I now get my news from three main websites.
http://noworldsystem.com - blog http://www.therealnews.com - free press http://www.rprradio.com - radio
These are the best sources I can find. I highly recommend visiting the sites and contributing what you can to their popularity. Good works deserve attention.
Donations:
According to http://www.ronpaulgraphs.com the average daily donation has dropped to an all time low rate. Hopefully this is due to the next moneybomb http://www.freeatlast2008.com
This next mass donation is today, the 21st of January 2008. The theme is to celebrate the works of Martin Luther King. Unfortunately there is an ongoing smear campaign against Dr. Paul. A neoconservative website published an article stating that they had proof of Dr. Paul racism. At the time Dr. Paul was back in the private sector performing his obstetrician duties, a newsletter continued to be published with his name at the top. Comments were made within the newsletter that today seem racist in nature. Of course Dr. Paul did not write them but the newsletter nonetheless went out into circulation under his name.
Today it is important that we support Dr. Paul by donating what we are able. The http://www.freeatlast2008.com mass donation says to donate $10 dollars, but I highly recommend giving it all you've got. Super Duper Tuesday is approaching fast, and I hate to say it, but MLK day has become political, so we need to show our support for MLK and Ron Paul on this day. - Both men believe in the pursuit of equality and freedom. If you have been holding out, now is the time to donate. There is another follow up mass donation even on the 3rd of February http://www.libertytax08.com .
For those who are non-american citizens we have set up http://www.moneybombamerica.com The donations given to the chipin will be spent on canvassing materials for meetup groups. The premise of the ongoing event is:
We need to bypass the mainstream media by providing the meetup organizers with videos, magazines, and radio play. There are 100,000 people in meetup groups. Most are in the U.S., they support the Ron Paul Official campaign by donations. But who is supporting the 100,000 meetup group 'army' of people spreading the word and attracting new votes? No one. Until now... we need the assistance of our friends around the world to ensure Ron Paul is elected. American empire must stop, we need to pull our military out of your country or the world is in for a very troubled economic ride.
Please spread the word about http://www.moneybombamerica.com the moneybomb for our global friends.
Constitution Friendly Candidates:
Mike Gravel and Dennis Kucinich, both from the Democrat Party, have been treated much the same as Ron Paul. I recommend that we somehow wrap them up into the fold of our Ron Paul Revolution. It is good to have friends and we should attempt to woo the grass roots supporters of these candidates by our active praise and support of these candidate along site Ron Paul. Doing this could be the turning point for success. I am still not sure why Dr. Paul, Gravel, and Kucinich don't help each other more.
Future:
The Ron Paul Money Bomb needs your input. Should we continue to perform weekly donations to the Ron Paul Campaign or should we bow out and allow http://www.ronpaulspayday.com to do the job for us?
As of right now, the website that started it all, is simply providing information about donations and doing our best to keep you informed of what events are REAL and effective, and what events are generated for example, by a teenager with good intent but doesn't quite know what they are doing. Because everyone want to be a rockstar these days, everyone want to be involved in raising money, but what that does is create chaos, we lose our unity, and it becomes difficult to drum up support. We are also trying now to bridge the gap between radio, print, video, and websites. By creating a loosely formed coalition of amateur and professional media archetypes we can bypass the mainstream media to win the hearts and minds of our fellow American who have yet to hear about the message of liberty, the message of Ron Paul.
Thanks for reading my little book ( )
Eric Nordstrom
